DARS Grič office building receives prestigious Architizer A+ Award in the Sustainable Office Buildings category

Ljubljana, June 2025 – The DARS Grič office building project, built in 2025, has been awarded the International Architizer A+ Award Winner in the Sustainable Commercial Building category. The award acknowledges the project’s outstanding contribution to the development of modern and sustainable commercial architecture and is an important recognition of Slovenian expertise, design and execution.

Located on the edge of Ljubljana at the Grič motorway junction, the building was designed with long-term energy efficiency, low emissions and a sensitive landscape in mind. Its architectural design follows the principles of passive construction, incorporates advanced natural and mechanical ventilation systems and uses materials with a low carbon footprint. Important emphasis is also given to the relationship between open working spaces and visual connection with the natural landscape.

“We are delighted that the DARS Grič building has been recognised as a reference example of sustainable construction at a global level. The Architizer A+ award proves that it is possible to offer modern, energy-efficient and architecturally high-quality spaces to infrastructure managers,” said Matej Blenkuš, a representative of the design team, upon receiving the award.

The DARS Grič building is not only a modern office building, but also a model of how public investment can contribute to an environmentally responsible future. The project was selected from a large number of international entries and the jury is made up of renowned architects, developers and designers from around the world.

The Architizer A+ Awards are among the most recognised architecture awards in the world. Their mission is to highlight projects that improve the quality of the built environment and contribute to a better future.
