Business premises in Krško

In interior design, we are more interested in embodying the right experience, both for those who work there and for those who come for meetings and conversations, than in finding the optimal image.

The renovation included four existing premises of the administrative and technological company in Krško. The division into a secretariat and two members of the Management Board has been retained, with the existing brick walls removed and replaced by semi-transparent partitions. The classic furniture, i.e. desks and cabinets, has been replaced by irregularly shaped “islands” which function as command desks for industrial process control on the one hand, and as highly efficient workstations on the other. The geometry is refracted at different angles, emphasising the soft transition between spaces, their interconnectedness and their communication with each other.

The design of the furniture is divided into soft and firm surfaces. The soft ones, in direct contact with the human body, are accentuated by pointed wooden edges and implants, while the firm ones are fully encased in a porcelain ceramic lining. The floor and ceiling are unified, with both horizontal surfaces covered in a textile lining. Optimum spatial acoustics are ensured by the use of a non-rectangular geometry, a large amount of absorption surfaces and special acoustic absorbers.

Even if the design of a space is at first glance simple and inexpressive, its haptic and sensory qualities only become apparent on direct contact. The unconventional use of materials, the irregular geometry, but at the same time the strict and clear structure challenge the perception of the classical corporate headquarters space, which on the one hand is extremely pleasant and relaxed, but on the other hand is highly formal, even anaemic at times.
